Firefly: The Browncoats Breakfast

Robert hosted fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly for the Browncoat's Breakfast. A line-up of Jayne Cobb's paraded their hats...and attendees smuggled their way through the event for a chance to win one of 8 Artist Proof Inara - 'Sihnon' dolls. The Nathan Fillion as Malcolm Reynolds Centerpiece (Captain Malcolm Reynolds - Browncoat - LE50) included the Mal doll to later be offered in the Firefly line to the public; however, the included Browncoat accessory will be sold separately. Also, the Co-Pilot's Chair (LE35) was made only for this event and will not be later available to the public (if extras are available of this LE35 edition, they will be sold on TonnerDirect.com after the convention - a waiting list is not being taken). The souvenir doll, Morena Baccarin as Inara Sera (Sihnon - LE200), is only available at this convention in this outift; a variant in another outfit will be available in the Friefly line).

  4. Oh dear, I shamelessly started to tear up when I thought I wasn't going to win a Mal. Luckily, my ticket was one of the very last ones pulled!

Although, there's one thing I wish could be different about Captain Tightpants: he's on the superhero body. Please don't let the craziness of John Barrowman continue-- let the production Mal doll be on a Matt O'Neil body. He looks like he could pick up Inara and toss her cross the 'verse.

  5. They look great! Mal actually looks like Nathan. And the Morena doll is lovely. Super job on those!

  6. I love them both! I can't wait to own some. And I can't wait for more characters! I'm hoping for Kaylee and Jayne next.

  9. RT - you once again did a magnificent job on the sculpts and outfits for this line! I love FIREFLY and am sad it's no longer on the air! I do have the movie on DVD though! :)

  10. I was so excited when I heard that Tonner was going to make Firefly dolls! But then these were revealed, and while these are good looking, well costumed dolls, I just don't see any real likeness to the actors. :/

  11. In person...the likenesses are really excellent. Inara especially is WONDERFUL!

  12. I was there, so I saw them in person. . . . and I don't see the likeness to the actors.

  13. Mal looks pretty close to Mal. The Inara doll appears to just be a generic female head though. Please consider making a head based on the actress! She's on V now, you can't miss her. (She plays the leader of the V -- with really short hair).

Mal's costume is great. Boots are too bulky though, and you wouldn't know his nickname is
"Captain Tightpants" since the pants aren't tight enough. But the boots are really far too loose. Please work on that, and he'll be perfect.
